Chapter 6 Introduction
By Tom Onquit
Every framework makes promises. The question worth asking — before adopting one, before committing a team to one, before staking organizational improvement on one — is whether those promises are backed by design decisions or by aspiration.
Aspirational frameworks describe what organizations should be. Designed frameworks describe what the framework itself is. The first kind produces inspiring posters. The second kind produces changed outcomes. WEEFAI is the second kind.
The ten attributes are not a values statement. They are an engineering specification. Each one reflects a deliberate choice made during the design of the framework — a decision about what a modern AI-era work system must be to remain relevant, trustworthy, and worth adopting. Taken together, they answer the question that every serious practitioner should ask before committing to any framework: what exactly have you built, and why should I believe it will hold up?
These attributes are the answer to that question. Read them as a specification, not a sales pitch. They describe what WEEFAI is designed to do — and hold us accountable to delivering it.
WEEFAI is Applicable, Modern, Balanced, Daily, Agnostic, Multilayered, Intelligent, Flexible, Customizable, and Living. The rest of this chapter walks through each one in turn, with the specificity each deserves.
