Output Leader: PRINCIPLE 13 - Serve the Consumer and the Output Leader
By Tom Onquit
The person who both owns and directs the work—typically a manager, product owner, team lead, director, or project manager. Accountable for what gets delivered, when, and to what standard. Sets scope, priorities, and quality expectations. Acts as the final acceptance gate before output reaches the Consumer.
Receive their direction as the definition of scope and success—not a constraint to work around. Build their standards into the Acceptance Criteria. Keep them informed of progress, blockers, and deviations. Surface questions early rather than assuming. Deliver work they can confidently stand behind and forward to the Consumer.
